This was me too.
I delete the folder / wp-content / plugins / polylang / and send/install the older version plugins and run again.
What’s your version of php?

Same issue here.
Updating to version 2.2 trashed my website.
Took me ages to realize it’s the polylang causing all the problems.
Fix it ASAP.

Step 1: Switch to Twenty Seventeen and deactivate *all* plugins except Polylang. Does it work? If no, what happens? A link to the non-working site would help.
What infos do you need?
The page gives a blank page so it can not be deactivated from the panel…

@malyyy What cannot be deactivated from the dashboard? Polylang? If that’s the case, this is most probably due to the custom code you wrote without checking that the plugin is active. Read: https://polylang.pro/doc/function-reference/

when updating to version 2.2 something in the plugin starts getting into some sort of a loop which makes the website either not load at all, or load after a significant amount of time (usually ends with host error).
By restoring to a backup before 2.2 (2.1.6) everything works perfect and all the other plugins are up to date. When I’ve tried updating polylang again to 2.2, it trashed the website again.

@chouby Unfortunately, you understand that you can not keep a non-functioning business website. I will try to make a copy after the weekend and if the situation is repeated I will post the address to the copy.

The biggest delay is generating a connection with Shortcodes Ultimate.
Do you have the Shortcodes Ultimate plugin installed (4.10.2)?

Is the issue with a specific shortcode?
Your plugin and https://pl.wordpress.org/plugins/shortcodes-ultimate/ They are heavily burdened and it delays and sometimes completely stop opening and timeout of a website.

SU without Polylang is in 5s.
I turned off SU and is in 10-12s with Polylang plugged in and 5-6s without.
If I include SU and Polylang I get 50s or timeout.
