• Hi,

We need the plugin postie for new posts (via email). My default preferences are, that new posts will expire after two hours. But with postie, this presettings are not taken.

So is there another way (maybe with shortcodes)? And what I have to do?

  • I’m the author of Postie and I took a look at the Post Expirator code to see how things work.
To allow Postie to work with Post Expirator some additional code would need to be written as a Postie AddOn to create the custom fields that Post Expirator expects.

    Hi Wayne

    Thanks for your fast reply.

I’m afraid, that I have to do it manually, since we need it next week to run for an event with event-screens. Or do you have other suggestions?

    Kind regards.

Please contact me at help@postieplugin.com to discuss some options.

If there is any hooks or anything that would make this easier, let me know – happy to make some tweaks to the post expirator backend

Thanks Aaron. Take a look at http://postieplugin.com/extending/

I’d recommend setting the various meta data in postie_post_before or postie_post_after

As a small NPO we can’t afford a individually solution extra paying for that. So we will do it manually (it will be next weekend and we should also test it). But it would be an interesting option for future… Thanks for your replies!

Would be interested to know if you ever managed to get this working? I am also looking for a solution to be able to post with Postie, and expire them somehow.

    Thanks

@mgreatorex Some integration code needs to be written to allow Postie to provide the extra expiration information to Post Expirator. You can do this yourself (see http://postieplugin.com/extending/) or contact me at help@postieplugin.com if you’d like to explore having me do it.
