In the normal WordPress RSS feed, HTML formatting tags such as <br> and <p></p> are automatically added for returns. However, for the RSS feed generated for WP Sermon, these tags aren’t there. Return spaces that I enter into the “Description” box just show up as spaces on the RSS feed, without any HTML tags (These tags are added fine on the frontend post view, just not in RSS). This is problematic because I have automated emails based on Sermon Manager’s RSS feed, and paragraphs I enter into the “Description” section just end up being one big chunk of text. Anyone know why this is or how to fix it?

  • Hey @stevenlma,

    Thank you for your patience.

Originally, we removed all HTML from the description field because of this answer on iTunes support forum:

    To quote it here:

though you shouldn’t put HTML in the descriptions and summary because iTunes doesn’t render it, it just dislays the HTML which looks messy

But, that was almost a decade ago, so we now enabled HTML descriptions by default.
If you have problems, you (and anyone else) can disable them via Sermon Manager settings (“Podcast” tab).
