• After updating WordPress to v. 4.8 this morning my site was still working as expected. After updating the Customizr theme to v.3.5.13 I received the following error:
‘Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM, expecting ‘,’ or ‘)’ in mysite/wordpress/wp-content/themes/customizr/core/functions.php on line 3152′

Did I do something wrong? How do I fix it? I’m still somewhat new to the WordPress platform.

  • Hi @abcbandgeek,
    thanks for reporting this.
Looks like an issue with a pretty old PHP version (5.3-).

    We’re working on a fix.

Though you might want to ask to your hosting company to increase the php version running on the server.
WordPress recommend PHP 7+, even if it also works with PHP 5.2.4+, but as you can read at the link below these versions have reached official End Of Life and as such may expose your site to security vulnerabilities.

Same problem here. Same line of code.

    wp-content/themes/customizr/core/functions.php on line 3152

    Any timeframe on a fix?

    Thanks!

Thanks Rocco. Love your theme, by the way.

Here’s my parse error – I got it after trying to upgrade wordpress. Any help?
