• I have already gone through the forums and attempted all of the suggested fixes – spent about 10 hours on this. I still cannot get the following to work. Basically has our site shut dowm.

Since 4.7 was installed, the following do not work:

    – Dashboard controls are hidden (have to type in the address directly) – have tried the methods on here to unhide it, none have worked
    – The site takes 4-24 hours to update (don’t use cache plugin, its not my browser and my hosting platform emptied the cache on their side)
    – Have already turned off all plugins, but because of the update problem, any changes I make take 4-24 hours to test

Is there an update coming out to fix these things?

    Thanks

    Tony

So far over sixty million downloads of WordPress 4.7!!!!!

Your issue could be site-specific or server-specific.

Next major release will be 4.8, planned for June

Have you tried MANUALLY updating. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress .zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory. You may need to delete the old wp-admin and wp-includes folders and files on your server before uploading the new ones. Please read the Manual Update directions first.

    That sounds like cache issue.

Try flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or browser caches. Not just your browser, but any op cache or content network cache as well such as Cloudflare. If your host provider has a “Purge Varnish” option or if you can ask your provider to flush memcache on your server. If you are using SiteLock, manage your caching there

Great for WordPress – what does this have to do with my issues? There are a lot of people having these exact same issues. I know this well because I have been on support sites trying to figure out why my site went down.

    Everything worked before the update.

    Thank you.

Yes, I already did this, thanks.

Thank you. I already did all of these things. Had absolutely no effect.

    Here’s my 2 cents:
If you have tried all the suggestion, let someone else look into it
