Buyed by an other company in 2021

This Review isnt valid anymore when you read it. The Plugin was buyed by an other Company and buys fake 5 star reviews. If you Updated at some version a whole new Plugin was replaced with the old SEO-Plugin.
Its super suspicious, but it happens more often lately with a lot of Plugins. They don’t buy the Plugin, they buy their users (you), since they replace the plugins in an update. So make sure not to enable Auto-Update unless youre sure
Many greedy guys are out there to buy some plugin from a free developer and make it to money with~ May consider donate your Plugin author from time to time, the less likely that will happen

You can definitely set the canonical urls for each page manually by enabling the “custom canonical urls” option. https://semperplugins.com/documentation/general-settings/#enable-custom-canonical-urls
If you know of an instance where custom canonical URLs are being generated incorrectly, you could let us know so we can fix it.
It seems like this should be a) a support request and/or b) a bug report rather than a 3 star review.
