I am using Jetpack Custom Post types for a portfolio. In the All In One Seo Noindex settings I notice that if I tick the projects box then the projects show a noindex tag – but I want the projects to be indexed.

What I want is the parent “blog roll” custom posts page to be noindexed to prevent duplicate content – but I cannot find a setting in All In One.

This is what I want to achieve

    mydomain.com/portfolio/ = noindex
    mydomain.com/portfolio/project-1/ = index
    mydomain.com/portfolio/project-2/ = index

I tried adding a disallow in robots.txt for portfolio but Google also started blocking the child custom types of /project-1/ and /project-2/. So that didn’t work.

Is there any way that I can achieve this with All In One or is there another way you could suggest?

    Thank you.

You don’t need to worry about duplicate content, Google knows that the parent is an archive of posts and does not consider this duplicate. In fact they consider the archive as a good thing.
