    I can’t get back in to my blog……at all….all I get is a internal server error screen……………

Is there a way to manually go into the code and chance it or something ?

did you actually look at the link I provided? apparantly not. If you arent bothered enough to read through what people provide, then you cant be helped.

Sorry, I didn’t see that it was a link.

I did everything on there and it still doesn’t work.

everything, huh? well the 500 error I see here suggests something else is also wrong.

if you do as it tells you,

“More information about this error may be available in the server error log.”

and look in your raw server logs, you can usually find the exact cause of 500 errors. Typically, they’re permission issues.

Not the most computer literate person but where would I find the server logs ?

Thanks for the help by the way…..

    | where…?

that depends, does your host use cpanel?

    Thread Starter hzemall

    (@hzemall)

    yes it does

    This is what it says

    Failed loading /usr/local/Zend/lib/Optimizer/php-5.2.x/ZendOptimizer.so: /usr/local/Zend/lib/Optimizer/php-5.2.x/ZendOptimizer.so: undefined symbol: compiler_globals, referer: http://bbs.onlyella.net/

for the only error for today

    ok then 🙂

when you login into cpanel X, one of the icons that you see is a piece of paper with the word “raw” on it — underneath the icon, it says: raw access logs”

In some other versions of cpanel, theres a whole subsection of log stuff, and the icon is slightly different, though the text is the same.

Thats probably only going to allow you to look at your access_log which isnt what you want, BUT you can turn on log archiving there, which will make those error logs available to you later. If you have already turned on log archiving, then you can actually use an ftp client, and you will have a logs/ directory, and those files will already be there.

Like I said though, this is typically a permission issue.

Directories need to be 755. Files need to be 644.

Once it’s all said and done it just opens a DOS screen then shuts it down 🙁

you downloaded a .com file. that will natively open in a dos window. Use your smarts, its a text file — Open with .. choose wordpad. If thats too confusing, rename it to log.txt, then open it in wordpad.

If you cant figure this out, I probably can — in about 3 minutes 🙂 BUT I would need your ftp info to do so. ..

if thats something youre willing to look into, contact me off the forum (village-idiot@ whoo ) <– just reverse those.

it’s actually a GZ file, hence the confusion…..

renamed it to a TXT file and it’s all jibberish
