SPAM from wordpress.org forum ‘subscription’

1. When you visit the thread in question, look to the thread details at the top of the sidebar. Is there a “Subscribe” or “Unsubscribe” link?

2. Does the email address on your WordPress.org profile match the email address you’re receiving these emails at?

3. What are 2 URLs (only 2) of the threads you are receiving?

This is rather odd. Would you please verify the first four letters of the email address receiving these? (not the whole email address)

Thanks, I have passed that up the chain. For now, I recommend just setting a rule in your email to automatically trash these subscription emails. (please don’t mark them as spam, as that could have a negative effect on others who actually want their subscription emails)

@moshje: The email you quoted says that you’re subscribed to a theme, not to actual individual threads.

Go here: https://wordpress.org/support/theme/morphology-lite/

At the top of that listing, you should see a link that says “Unsubscribe from this theme”.

@mackconsult: As you can see here, you’re subscribed to 4 whole different forums and like 40 or so different topics:

Visit a forum, like here, for example:

https://wordpress.org/support/forum/plugins-and-hacks/

Then click on the “Unsubscribe” link in the sidebar. Do that for each forum and thread and you’ll be unsubscribed from those things.

Subscribing to a “forum” gets you everything posted in that forum. So, you might want to unsubscribe from those forums to make the emails stop.

@mackconsult You’re still subscribed to those whole forums. You need to unsubscribe from them first.

A forum is the whole section. Everything posted in there will keep getting emailed to you until you deactivate those main subscriptions.
