This plug in seem to use the same template as the blog posts. This causes a problem with out site as the blog post template shows a date icon with the date the post was published. It also shows post categories which you can’t seem to use with the volunteer opportunity. So I just have the word categories with nothing after it.

Is there a way to get the pluggin to use a custom page template?

This one is a little tricky @jeffwllms since it all depends on your theme, but it is absolutely possible to use a different template. Here’s what you’ll need to do:

    1. In your theme’s files on your server look for a file called single.php (if that doesn’t exist use index.php).
    2. Copy that file and rename it within your theme to be called single-volunteer_opp.php.
    3. Adjust that template file however you’d like and you should see the changes appear on your site.

In case you need it, you can learn more about how WordPress handles which template to use by looking at https://developer.wordpress.org/files/2014/10/template-hierarchy.png.

Let me know how it goes and if you have any questions.

Glad it helped @jeffwllms. I’ll mark this as resolved, but let us know if any other questions come up.
