You should be able to use WordFence alongside Jetpack, as long as you do not set WordFence to completely block access to your site’s XML-RPC file. Jetpack uses that file to communicate with WordPress.com, and needs that file to be accessible.
No worries though; Jetpack’s Protect module protects the XML-RPC file against abuse, so the file will be protected.
Thanks for the info Jeremy.
Would you say then just using Jetpack would be enough and i don’t have to worry about using wordfence alongside?
WordFence offers functionality that’s not included in Jetpack’s Protect module. If you’re interested in some of these features, I think you should install the plugin, in addition to Jetpack.
So i am a first time user and wordpress blog builder so im not actually sure of what i really need.
I just want to ensure my site is protected from spam and attacks of all sorts.
I’d suggest that you install the plugin, and look at the different features it offers. You can give them a try, and see if they prove useful after a few months.
