Wow. Fees Much?

First of all, this really is a fantastic product. It is clean, clear well-implemented and feature rich. Truly one of the best event calendaring plug-ins I have seen.

However for needs, we would need to use some of the add-on products also provided by Web Dorado. These add ons come at a fee, which is no big deal, I have no problem paying for a great product.

With that said, I must question their choice of pricing model. Basically if you have a need to use one of their add-ons, you will need to pay a fee to upgrade to the pro version. Then you will need to pay a fee to purchase the add-on. Need another add-on? Pay a fee. Need more than 6 months of support? Pay a fee. Want to get software updates? Pay a fee. Need to use the product on more than one site? Pay a fee. You get the idea.

How about this instead? Offer the “add-ons” included as part of your pro product. Charge a flat fee to unlock all of these advanced features at one time instead of nickel and dimeing your customers. The pricing model is so convoluted I feel like I am buying a cell phone contract instead of a wordpress plug-in. And for christ sakes provide software updates at NO CHARGE.

It looks as though you have quite a few customers so some people must be ok with this business model, too bad I wont be one of them.
