categories bug
-
Hey Sybre
I want clarification regarding the following:
On your main setting page, under Robots Meta Settings I have selected No Index and No archive for:
-Category Archives
-Tag Archives
-Author Archives
-Date Archives
-Search Pages
-Attachment PagesI have done this because I have no content in my category or tag pages and want google to only link to my site pages and blog posts.
However if I am in WP admin and go to WP/posts/categories(or tags) I see that the robots settings meta I chose in your plugin settings page are not followed. That is, if I open one of the categories (or tags) at the bottom of the edit page there is still the option to tick apply no index, no follow, no archive.
I have visited each of the category and tags pages to ensure the setting are correct…
BUT if I select a setting in Robots Meta, why isn’t that treated as global and carried across to the edit pages of each individual category and tag?
And just to clarify and be sure. If for example I tick No Index for category archives in the Robots Meta Settings, but I do not tick the no Index option on the edit page for a particular category, will that category still not get indexed by google?
Thanks in advance for your kind assistance.
