Enhanced ecommerce – questions

Hello, I must integrated enhanced ecommerce into my woocommerce website and I was wondering if I can do it using GTM and this plugin.

Before deciding, can someone confirm if this plugin + enhanced ecommerce can track:
– product impressions on category page, and product clicks
– product impressions on related products, and product clicks
– impressions on product pages
– add/remove to cart
– checkout steps, with the ability to track which payment/shipping method the user has selected
– guest checkout
– transactions (in local currency)

Are these supported by default or do they need some extra dev work?

Hi,

I can confirm that all those features can be tracked however you have to know that some tracking depends on how customized the HTML code of your theme is. I create all codes using the official WooCommerce theme called StoreFront. Every theme that uses the same naming convention is eligible to track all enhanced ecommerce metrics except internal promotions as this is not part of the standard WooCommerce feature set.

I would advise to start using my plugin after Monday as a quickfix release on the way with some important fixes to the latest version. You should also read this article so that you can setup your GTM properly:

Thanks Thomas. How can I check if my theme is? I still need to choose between Porto and Kleo, they are quite famous themes. Should I ask their developers?

Hi,

Yes, you should ask them how much they changed in terms of HTML code (classes, IDs) compared to the WooCommerce default. If not much or nothing, you can be sure it will work.
