• Hi,
We are developing a new WordPress installation for a client in a sub-folder /new/.

We requested a new database for the installation, but were actually given the existing database for the live site. An error was thrown up when configuring the /new/ website: “WordPress already installed”.

The problem is, this seems to have corrupted the live site database.

Front end shows “database connection error”
admin shows a database connection error with several possible causes – corrupt database, wrong password or database not active.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks
