• Hi,

We are having some issues with the order tax calculation when the order is being updated through the API. It seems like taxjar is not involved in tax calculation (but some other default functionality or something) when we add new products to the order through the API.

For example, for NJ we have no tax for all our products. And on checkout page this is being calculated properly but when we update the product tax is being recalculated and wrong tax is being added to the product.

Can you let me know if there is anything we are doing wrong or any easy way to hook taxjar to the tax update function?

    Best,
    Lukasz

    Hi Lukasz-

We ask you to make sure to be on the latest plugin version. If you want the plugin to calculate taxes in NJ you will want to set that state and city and zip as your Base Location in WooCommerce. If you want more than one state then you can add those states in your TaxJar account.

If you have done this you can also try clearing your transients and any old cached tax rates under the WooCommerce->System Status menu and then click the Tools tab to find the delete transient and rates options.

To better support you with specific account setup you can email our support team at support@taxjar.com so they can look at your TaxJar account. Thank you.
