We currently do not have support for this in our plugin, it is currently in development. This plugin may do what you want – https://wordpress.org/plugins/seo-image/

Steve, here’s what I don’t understand. Does AIOSEO trump all the settings made in the media library? I already have alt tags set for my images. I created them in the wp media library. But, I don’t know if AIOSEO overrides the settings I’ve made there. For instance, the image titles and descriptions I created in the media library don’t show up in the corresponding AIOSEO fields. I had to manually transfer them to AIOSEO. So, this makes me suspect that AIOSEO overrides everything. Have I missed some settings that would allow me to selectively choose which media library settings to allow? Please clarify.

We do not do anything with Alt tags whatsoever. If you have enabled SEO for Media Attachments then we add new SEO Title and SEO Description fields which only get used if you have Attachment pages for your images.
