• I started getting the error below on my site today after adding new portfolio item at http://bayshoremg.com/portfolio-items/1558/ and the images are taking a while to load. I regenerated all of my thumbnails to no avail.

Warning: Illegal string offset 'width' in /home/baysho10/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.photon.php on line 473

Warning: Illegal string offset 'height' in /home/baysho10/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.photon.php on line 474

It is showing up at the top of the page and where my content is. If I turn off photon it goes away.

Hi there, and thanks for the report! Could you let me know how you uploaded those images to your site? Did you use a third-party plugin, or do you use an image plugin on your site?

I believe this is related to a recent issue, which you can read more about here:
    https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/pull/3186

We’re still in the process if investigating this, but if you’re comfortable editing some code, you can try to apply the patch here to see if it helps:

Hi Ryan, I uploaded the images via the WP media library. I didn’t get any errors while doing so. I just redid the post and deleted the original and I haven’t had any problems since but I still have photon turned off.

Thanks for the help! Hope we get this fixed soon!

Hello, I am receiving a similar error with Photon enabled.

“Uncaught ReferenceError: width is not defined” on devicepx-jetpack.js?ver=201630:12

The error count goes up by ‘1’ every second.

This only happens on pages where I have the Isotope filtering library pulled in. When I deactivate Photon, the error goes away. All images were uploaded through the Media Library. The error does not affect the front end display. And I did not get this error when the site was being developed.

Here is the page in question: https://chicweed.design/our-favorites/

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

@dvieira Could you please start your own thread, as per the Forum Welcome?

I would also recommend switching to a different theme, if the Isotope library is used by yuor theme, to make sure the problem is a conflict between that use of the library and Photon.

    Thank you!
