    Hello there,

I’ve noticed that if I deliberately disconnect Jetpack then my Widget Visibility settings are lost, i.e. the external appearance of the site shows none of my conditional settings I rely upon.

I was wondering then what happens if my site temporarily loses connection to jetpack.wordpress.com due to say a network problem or even a problem with jetpack.wordpress.com? Do the pages still show their widget visibility settings or are they lost until the connection is restored?

In general then the question is: What criteria must be met for widget visibility settings to show up on the externally facing website?

    Thanks,
    Jim

That won’t affect your widget visibility settings. Disconnecting Jetpack from WordPress.com manually, on the other hand, will, just as deactivating the plugin would.

    OK – thanks Jeremy.

So any Jetpack code remains on the pages until Jetpack is disconnected or the Jetpack plugin is deactivated. When that happens, any Jetpack code is stripped from the pages. Jetpack plugin settings though are saved until the plugin is deleted, which is why Jetpack can be disconnected then reconnected without having to re-enter settings. Is that about right?
