    Hi,

After updating to the latest version of WooCommerce some translations are missing in Spanish and Catalan languages. Some of this translations are basic ones like “Add to cart” buttons or most of the checkout page.

I tried to force update the translations without success. And I also tried to modify the WooCommerce .po files for the corresponding languages in /wp-content/languages/plugins and nothing happened.

This problem appeared in two sites, so I guess that the problem is global.

Any ideas of how can I solve this? I’m working with WPML WooCommerce Multilingual extension for the multilingual functionality. I have the latest versions of plugins and WP.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hello,
First please make sure that “Translate by WPML” is selected in WPML > Theme and plugin localization.
Then try to place the .mo file inside wp-content\plugins\woocommerce\i18n\languages
And after that please go to WPML > Theme and plugin localization – select the checkbox before WooCommerce and use the button on the bottom to scan for strings.
This may take a while to complete, but it should work.

Please let me know how it goes.

Ok, this worked in one of the websites. Translations needed an update.
In the other website I tried this but I can’t do it because of server timeout. For security reasons, the max execution time in my hosting is 150s.
Is is possible to divide the process in two parts? This site have 2 additional languages, maybe it could be split?
    Thanks for the help!

If I am correct on the way that the scan works, it should be possible after the timeout occurs that you try again – and it should continue from the place that it stopped.
