"x" in Post Excerpt | WordPress.org

Hello! Discovered that when I embed a video with the shortcode, an “x” appears in the text of the post excerpt. And unfortunately, excerpts are what appear for all my posts on my homepage. Thus a post might appear as:

“x Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Mauris eu mollis lectus. Ut non urna imperdiet, malesuada nibh in, tincidunt velit.”

Any way to fix this so that no “x” appears?

I’ve got the same problem as you. Beside of that this would be exactly the plugin I was looking for. Pitty.

Does anybody happen to have an answer for this?

Hi again

I have found a workaround for this. Just add following filter to your functions.php:
```
add_filter( 'the_excerpt', 'remove_video_shortcode' );
function remove_video_shortcode( $excerpt ) {
  return preg_replace ('/(<p>x<\/p>)/', '', $excerpt);
}
```

I have this issue fixed by using CSS to generate the X in the upcoming version. Please help testing the beta.
