Sometimes it doesn’t happen (by unknown reason). But then thumbnails keep being different size, not reshape to square, as it seems to be happening in other browsers.
Thanks for the report. I see the problem in my iOS simulator running Safari, but I’m not seeing the problem on the Apostrophe demo, nor on my test site.
To rule out a plugin conflict, you could try temporarily deactivating all your plugins. Does the problem persist? If the problem is gone, reactivate your plugins one-by-one, look at the site in between each reactivation, to find the conflict.
Let me know how it goes.
Hiya. I’m a bit of a wordpress novice and I like the simplicity of this theme. However, I would like to know how to get the different sized images on the home page the way it’s shown on the promo as mine are all just 450 x 450 thumbnails and I really liked the way some images were longer I guees the 930 x 450 size that’s specified. I feel as though I’ve missed something obvious!
I have only done 4 posts so far though…
Hi invisiphilia – to get a larger featured image displayed, you need to set the post as featured:
Featured Content
Featured Content in Apostrophe is a bit unique. To mark posts as featured, you’ll first have to configure the Featured Content module from Appearance → Customize → Featured Content. From there, you’ll be able to select a tag for all your featured posts. Any posts tagged with this tag will be shown in a more prominent way.
You can also tag your posts using Apostrophe‘s special front-end tagger. By default, the tagger is disabled, but you can enable it by checking the “Enable front end feature-starring for easier tagging of Featured Content” checkbox under Appearance → Customize → Theme. Then, visit your blog page, hover over the post you’d like to feature, and click on the star icon. You’ll notice that this post then increases in prominence.

You’ll need to activate thet Jetpack plugin to use Featured Content on a self-hosted site.
If you need further help, could you please start a new thread since your issue is unrelated to the one by the original poster? Thanks! https://wordpress.org/support/theme/apostrophe
Thank you,it’s all working now – please ignore my email. I totally missed that the jetpack plugin was necessary. Does it mention this somewhere on the Apostrophe page?
