Upload file custom field available?

Hi,

There isn’t a way to add a custom field to the member profile of type file upload is there? My client is looking for a way for members to upload papers they’ve written to their profile, but I don’t see “file” as a type when adding a custom field. If there isn’t a way to add a custom field as type file, is there any other way to allow members to upload a file that can be linked from their profile?
