Video shortcodes?

    Hi,

    My WordPress is http://www.digitalcanvas.co. We post Vimeo videos using shortcodes with commentary. We started to use Crosspostr to transfer our posts over to our new Tumblr, http://www.digitalcanvasvfx.tumblr.com. The shortcodes are not transferring over – we would like for the video to appear within the Tumblr post, but right now you only see the commentary. Is there any way to set that up with Crosspostr?

    I am not the creator of the blog, only a contributor, so if this is an issue of a custom blog setup, is there anyway I can customize it to work with Crosspostr? Or will I have to upload the videos to Tumblr manually in order for them to show up within the post?

    :\ Sadly, Tumblr Crosspostr can’t recognize shortcodes from other plugins as specific content types. It can only recognize the embed code that comes from Vimeo (or YouTube or whatever) itself. This is a limitation of WordPress shortcodes, not Tumblr Crosspostr.

    My suggestion at the moment would be to use the native embed code provided by Vimeo, not a shortcode. This will work both on WordPress and Tumblr.

    If that’s not possible, you will need to customize your blog by writing a pre-processor function to ensure that the shortcodes you are using are expanded to HTML before Tumblr Crosspostr begins processing the post. This requires some programming knowledge and administrator access to the blog, however, so it would be something that you’d have to talk to your blog admins about.
