browser fetches old page
-
Hello.
I’m using w3tc and cloudflare. Website has been running half a year. Couple months ago I did set new front page “sorry” so the people who visit would see maintanace page while I was fixing minor css. Next day I changed front page back to default.
After 2 months the page “sorry” still serves up sometimes as front page. e.g doing Google’s website speed test. Even there sometimes the “sorry” page comes up, sometimes not.
The “sorry” page is served even in explorer/firefox/chrome.. sometimes the front page is served “sorry” page and sometimes the front page is served default page, in chrome it is more frequent to be served “sorry” page as front page than in firefox.
So… month ago I was so overwhelmed from it already I deleted the “sorry” page from wordpress completely. After deletion I cleaned up revisions/database with this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/rvg-optimize-database/ deleted all.
After that I cleared cache with w3tc and purged cache with cloudflare as well… and now the page still comes up as front page… some times… how the hell I can remove it, so the front page would be the one I’ve set months ago “default”. I think funny in this scenario is that the browsers and speed tests get sometimes the new content and sometimes the old one… By old i mean 2 months old.
SUMMARY:
1)cleared w3tc cache
2)purged cloudflare cache
3)deleted cookies/history in browsers
4)deleted “sorry” page
5)deleted revisions
6)cleaned/optimized database https://wordpress.org/plugins/rvg-optimize-database/
7)deleted cookies/history in browser
