I am getting this when a user tries to register:

ERROR: JavaScript and Cookies are required in order to register. Please be sure JavaScript and Cookies are enabled in your browser, and reload the page.

Disabling the plugin solves this, and users can register.

    Hey feverdog,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having that issue but I’ll be happy to help.

Have you had a chance to read through the Frequently Asked Questions and work through the Troubleshooting Guide? If you haven’t yet, it’s very important you take a few minutes to do so as that literally solves 99% of users’ issues.

In Troubleshooting Guide step 9, it does specifically mention the issue you’re having, and says that if this message comes up consistently even after JavaScript and cookies are enabled, then there most likely is an installation problem, site configuration issue, plugin conflict, or JavaScript conflict.

Also, there is one FAQ that specifically addresses this issue as well and what to do: I think a legitimate user or comment may have been blocked. What’s going on here and what do I do? Please follow the steps described there, including submitting a support request at the WP-SpamShield Support Form so we can look into it for you.

    Thanks Scott,

I think there was a problem with a js conflict. It seems to be working now.

    thanks!

You’re welcome. Glad everything is working now. Let me know if you ever need help again.

    Hi Scott,

same issue here. For a few weeks, everything went so well, suddenly about 50% of all my sites are struggling with this. When I deactivate the plugin, everything works again perfectly. I really like your product and got very used to it. How can this problem be fixed ?? I have the impression it was the last update which caused the issues.

    Thanks!

    Hi yea747,

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. I’m sorry to hear about that.

We added some new features in recent releases, and as you may know, sometimes there are a few kinks that come with it.

We’ll look into that and get a fix out as quickly as possible. Everything that’s been reported so far has been fixed within a few hours.

I’ll need a bit more info from you on the specifics, and we’ll need to email back and forth, so please head over to the WP-SpamShield Support Form, and take a moment to fill out a support request. That will allow us to take care of this as quickly as possible for you (and anyone else who is experiencing the same issue).

    Hi Scott,

Your plugin has blocked 208,000 spam from my site – thanks!

Just recently I started getting the same error above when logging in via OneAll Social Login (https://wordpress.org/plugins/oa-social-login/).

I have tried updating to the latest version (1.9.0.4) and also went through the FAQ and Troubleshooting guide, but have not been able to resolve the issue. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!
