glossary item view gets 404
-
We were testing this plugin and it gives us a 404 on the first entry. We had followed instruction to create the index page, which shows, and the glossary item was listed there, but when you click on it…

BTW, we tried disabling WPSSO on the content for this plugin, still same issue

When you edit a post/page/custom-post-type, WPSSO connects back to the permalink and checks for duplicate meta tags in the webpage header. If you’re positive that your templates are not adding social meta tags of their own, you can uncheck the “Check for Header Tag Conflicts” option on the SSO Advanced settings page.
js.
Hello JS Morisset, thank you for your response. Did that, and then purge the memory, reserved the glossary item, still not working.
I think it is not about the WPSSO plugin. Perhaps something else
Did you try to disable other plugins to see if they may be causing this ?
Also please check if changing your theme may solve this. i am not suggesting you to change but just to find the cause for this issue
I am afraid I cannot disable other plugins just for checking if this one works. Too much is at stake for doing this. This is a live site. However, I can list the ones that we use so perhaps you know which ones have previously caused problems. Before that, however, I read in some other support threads and reviews saying that the problem exists only in the free version but not in the paid version. I intend to buy the paid version in the end anyway and wonder if this is true. I hate to buy something, install and work on it and find out that it doesn’t work. Time is precious.
Here is the plugin list:

By Lester ‘GaMerZ’ ChanThis is a troubleshooting procedure to disable other plugin. You can also do this in a dev site to find out the cause of this. We can’t tell by the list which one may be problematic and maybe this is coming from a conflict with your theme
I have the same problem: just installed the plugin, the Glossary page was created automatically. Added two terms, and they showed up fine in the glossary page.
However, clicking on any of the terms leads to a 404 page.
The page is at http://wordpress.idorecall.com/glossary for now; if that link is dead by the time you check this, please try http://idorecall.com/glossary
We’re using the Avada theme with very few plugins:
Fusion Core
LayerSlider WP
Revolution Slider
Simple Author Box
WP SubtitleI’ve deactivated both Sliders and that didn’t solve the problem.
Please download the latest release 3.1.7 and check again
This post is 2 month old, but I was wondering if anyone found the solution to the problem.
I’m having a similar issue.
The Glossary Term is identified correctly on the page. The Index Page is also generated correctly. It is only when one clicks on the term, that the displayed page returns the 404 (ie. “Sorry, no posts matched your criteria”).See this: http://bxp07.breweryautomationexperts.com/glossary/
I’m using the Ultimatum Theme, and tried to use WP Standard and Custom Loops. Tried using WP Custom Loop with the post and glossary layouts (i.e. Post Types). No combination worked.
Cheers.
This usually means an issue with your permalinks. You need to set the permalinks so they will not be set to default and if they already are please save twice (it is called refreshing the permalinks)
Yesterday, I actually tried disabling and re-enabling all plugins on my development system, and that fixed the problem for me.
Thanks for your comments.
Cheers.
same issue for me. Any news, or more detailed info to solve it ?
Did you check your permalinks or tried to save them again?
Thanks, after saving the permalink even if it was already set as expected, it “refreshed” and enable the expected behavior.
