    Hey,

I’m using the tiled gallery feature in the Jetpack plugin, sadly it’s not working anymore

    What is wrong :
The current display looks like this http://postimg.org/image/4okkfeyc3/
When I try to create a gallery, it works but at the last step it displays this http://postimg.org/image/qjpwhgp5b/
On Chrome, when loading the page, using the dev tools, I can find this http://postimg.org/image/waq28dxyn/

What did I try to fix it (nothing worked) :
    – Disabling all plugins, only one was left, the Jetpack one
    – Removed “cleaner-gallery” using a line of code in functions.php
    – Used the plugin to remove “cleaner-gallery” as said in the known issues http://jetpack.me/support/getting-started-with-jetpack/known-issues/
    – Check rights on my uploaded files and gallery files (tested 604 & 644)
    – Be sure that my page was created correctly before creating the gallery
    – Be sure that Tiled & Carousel galleries were activated in Jetpack Settings
    – Tried on 2 websites of mine, themes are “Arcade Basic” & “Sparkling”
(PS : It used to work on the Sparkling website)

Only one thing worked : Activating the Twenty Thirteen theme
So it might be a conflict with the theme BUT it was working before (on Sparkling theme) and I didn’t find what could cause the conflict in my themes

I’m running out of ideas to fix it and I didn’t find any more solutions on the net

Any help would be really appreciated

    Thanks for reading,
    Cheers

Your theme appears to be adding an extra parameter (?w=-30) to each gallery image, causing the image link to break.

Could you check your theme for a function that adds that parameter to gallery images, or ask the theme author for help?

    Thanks for the quick answer,

I did post something on the Theme support forum : https://wordpress.org/support/topic/theme-adding-extra-parameter-on-request-to-get-image-gallery-w-30?replies=1#post-6625597

I tried to find something in the themes php file but I didn’t find anything

I’ll post the answer here as well (if I find anything)

    Cheers

EDIT : It now works on Sparkling theme (it was a temporary problem which was actually not related to the issue as on Arcade basic)
I’ll still inform what happen about Arcade theme

Thanks for the update! Just to confirm, are your galleries working properly for you at the moment? Or is there anything that we can help with?

Thanks for your question Ryan and I got some news about the issue (not from the other post though)

Since you asked me this question I tried a slideshow and a square tiles on the same page

    Result is :
    Slideshow is working
    Square tiles is not working

The difference between those two is that one request my website to get the image and the other request another website (for some reasons ?)

    Slideshow request : http://openlycurious.com/Chez-Pedro/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/new_Gallery_cool_5.jpg?w=984
    Square Tiles request : http://i0.wp.com/openlycurious.com/Chez-Pedro/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/pedro_gallery_5.jpg?w=-30

What is this “i0.wp.com” doing in here ?

    Cheers

What is this “i0.wp.com” doing in here ?

That domain is added by Jetpack’s Photon module. Jetpack’s Tiled Galleries use Photon to cache and resize your images on the fly and create the tiled effect.

However, as long as your theme or one of your plugins adds a -30 parameter to the URL, Photon cannot download your images to resize them.

Ok I see, I ran out of ideas, I’m waiting for the author theme to respond

If by the time you ever think of something that can handle the issue, I’ll be glad to hear it as well =)

If I get an answer from the other post, I’ll inform here for other people that may have the same issue

    Cheers
