    Hi there,

I’ve got a bit of a strange problem that I hope someone might have some idea how to fix.

About 5 months ago my website was hacked and malware was embedded. I cleared it all out and started fresh. EXAMPLE.COM domain worked fine but now when i simply put .WWW in front of the URL it gives the following error:

    Error 403

We’re sorry, but we could not fulfill your request for / on this server.

You can use this key to fix this problem yourself.

Now when I called my host godaddy, they suggested to rename the htaccess file to anything like htaccess.dax and strangely enough the http://www.EXAMPLE.com domain actually worked! but now unfortunately when you click on any article or page content in the website, it goes to the following error:

    Not Found

The requested URL /crown-proposal-queens-wharf/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I have since changed it back to the normal htaccess file name but still the www. sub domain doesn’t work.

Wondering if anyone else out there has had this problem before and knows how to fix it??

    Kind Regards,

    Eric

  • Try deleting the htaccess file then reset the permalinks by clicking save again. You might change them to default , save, test, change them back to %Post%, save test again.

    Settings>Permalinks

    Hi Radices,

Thank you so much for your help. You are right. After calling my host for help they believe the problem was with the wordpress plugin “bad behaviour” an anti-spam plugin that must have changed or altered code within the htaccess file.

If anyone had the same issue as me. Delete the old htaccess file like Radices said and then click save in settings > permalinks and that generates a new htaccess file which seems to have cured the problem totally.

It seems like other people have had issues with this plugin. My advise is don’t download it.
