Post Ordering Multiple Category Issue

Before the new version of WordPress came out, my client says he was able to move a category post in multiple categories to different orders. Now he is saying that when he moves a post to a specific order for 1 category that the post is in, it also moves the post in the other categories that the post is in as well. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

What we would like is to have 1 post, in multiple categories, but be able to move the post order differently for each category the post is in.
