• Hello,

Any help would be much appreciated.

Today we were notified our site was not working. After attempting to visit our website we got the following error message.

Warning: require_once(/home/content/p3nexnas06_data03/10/2160010/html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/p3nexnas06_data03/10/2160010/html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/jetpack.php on line 30

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home/content/p3nexnas06_data03/10/2160010/html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php5_4/lib/php’) in /home/content/p3nexnas06_data03/10/2160010/html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/jetpack.php on line 30

I attempted to access my wp-admin console to resolve the issue but we had no access there either. I contacted our hosting provider and he said he needed to disable the plugin. He said when the plugin is enabled, you are actually unable to access any plugins. He reneamed the directory for jetpack to allow me to access the site and my other plugins. He said it may need to be re-installed to the server.

My site is now working but I have lost all of my configurations and settings. My questions are; (1)any idea why this may have happened and how we can prevent it in the future? (2)are there any files within the old jetpack plugin I can copy and paste into the new one I now need to install? This will save us a lot of time and trial/error.

    Thanks in advance!

It seems the update didn’t complete properly, and some files were not downloaded properly.

Could you try to log in to your site via FTP, delete the existing Jetpack plugin folder, and reinstall the plugin manually as explained here:

Let me know how it goes.

Okay. I will definitely do that and let you know.

Before I do, are there any files I can copy and paste so I don’t have to go through setting all of the settings and configurations again?

    Thanks

As long as your site URL doesn’t change, you do not need to worry about your settings; they’re stored on WordPress.com and will be back as soon as the new version of Jetpack is active on your site.

Even though we have our hosting through another provider and not wordpress.com?

Yes. Your Jetpack site settings are stored on WordPress.com, regardless of where you host your site.
