I am working to try to simplify my site and reduce the number of plugins I have activated and I am trying to understand if I need both Jetpack’s WordPress.com stats and Google Analytics.

I have both of these on my dashboard, but they seem to give similar data, so I am wondering if I am better off just focusing on one.

What is the difference in the stats given by Jetpack’s wordpess.com stats vs. Google Analytics.

    Thanks!

That’s really up to you. The 2 services are similar, but Google Analytics is a lot more advanced: it offers in-depth analytics about your readers’ browsers, OS, allows you to run funnel analyses to understand what your readers do on the site, and more.

If you use any of these extra features, you’ll need to keep Google Analytics around.

It’s worth noting that since both plugins rely on third-party servers to calculate your stats, you can safely keep both plugins around: that won’t have a strong impact on your site’s performance.

OK. thanks. Will probab just keep Google Analytics since that has more data.
