    Hi @drgnmeme, thanks for posting.

    Just to clarify, you want to show an action box widget based on categories correct? right now, this is not possible. The nearest solution I can think of is WooSidebar http://www.techmesto.com/different-wordpress-widgets-based-on-category-or-page/

    You create multiple MAB widgets that you will use for each category, then in WooSidebar, you assign these widgets and match them to the category.

    Thanks for getting back to me.

    Good news, I found a work-around “hack”. Set a text widget to the side bar, use [magicactionbox]

    In the post, select the MAB in dropdown menu and check “manual”.

    It is not the ideal solution but works great!

    Actually.. it is the solution (sort of). I totally forgot about that little known feature we baked in to the shortcode as its not really something we’ve finalized yet. It’s the same code that powers the action boxes in the content area. Good for you to find it.
