Since upgrading to WP 4.0, this plugin has stopped working

Massive shame as I love it, I even think this feature should be in the core WordPress installation as I have different widgets appearing on each page and this has been the best way of doing it

(sidenote: am I the only person who thinks its nuts that WordPress DOESN’T include this as standard?.. really!)

What I’m seeing is working fine. Can you be more specific? What settings/pages are not working for you?

Hi, thank you for your reply. I’ve actually sadly had to go with another plugin because we had to get the widgets up and running asap for a launch in a few days.

However just so you know, all the settings are showing up absolutely fine in the admin. But none of the widgets showing in the front end.

I’ve set each widget to only show on specific pages, I’ve not done any exclusions. I tried switching all other plugins off and it didn’t make a difference.

    I hope that helps

I also have the same issue. Have been using this plugin for years, but it has stopped working in WordPress4.0. Also using Genesis 2.1.2 and genesis templates; the plugin has worked 30+ genesis templates in the past.

For example, I have a widget area called Page Top that displays above content. If I assign a widget to that area and select “Show on checked pages” and I select a few specific pages, the widget shows on ALL PAGES.

I had to install another widget plugin, but I’d love to keep using Display Widgets.

Note: The plugin still works on genesis sites that I have not upgraded to wp 4.0

Any ideas? Genesis did not change between 3.9 and 4.0 release.

    Hello

    Sorry for my english:)
I had same problem. I downgrade plugin to 1.24 version and working fine. Download 1.24 version, extract files and change file /wp-content/plugins/display-widgets/display-widgets.php
