Loading last slide first

Smooth slider is loads the last slide first and then very quickly jumps to the first slide. Also, when Smooth Slider first loads, I see two “Read More” links. When it jumps to first slide, the “Read More” links are correct. How can I fix this behavior?

Also, I was originally having the problem of all slides loading at once so that I could see the titles all jumbled together. When I changed the background to white via css (as was recommended in a previous forum post), that problem went away. But I wonder if it’s related to the current problems I’m having.
