File Away causes blank page

Hi guys,

I hope you’re able to help me. I really love your plugin, but unfortunately it only works sometimes.

After installation of File Away everytime I save a post, update it etc. I get a blank page. Also when I visit my site, sometimes I get a blank page but when I refresh it works perfectly.

What can be causing these problems? I’ve tried to install another template than my preferred one, and the theme wasn’t the issue.

Unfortunately I can’t show you my site as it runs on a local server serving as an intranet for my business.

I hope you able to point me into the right direction as your theme is exactly what I need! 🙂

Try setting wp_debug to true in your wp_config.php and tell me if you get any errors when updating a post. It’s difficult to troubleshoot if I can’t see your site, since I’ve never encountered this problem before. What version of WP are you using?

Awesome with the quick response, Thomstark. I’m running WP 3.9.1.

I receive the following errors when I try to create a blog post (note that the post is submitted even though I receive these errors):

I’m also receiving this error in the bottom of my frontend:

Your past two comments are not errors. They are notices. Anyway, open up file-away/includes/file-away.php, scroll to the bottom and check to see if there is a closing “?>” at the end. If so, delete it. It shouldn’t be there, I’m not sure why it would be, but headers already sent errors happen when a php doc has blank spaces after a closing tag.

Damn, that didn’t do the trick. There wasn’t any closing PHP tag.

I’ve done nothing but translating a word within that file. Therefore I’ve restored the original “file-away/includes/file-away.php” to try out if my edition caused the error. However, unfortunately the error still occurs.

For the time being, just set WP_DEBUG to false in your wp-config.php, or customize it to disable showing notices. Notices are not errors or warnings, not harmful. I am working on a total rewrite of the plugin in OOP and I will be getting rid of all of these notices that I can find.
