I only want to use the Feedback tab in the dashboard to receive messages through the contact form. Is it possible to deactivate the email forwarding? Of course I could enter some bogus email address, but this is somewhat dirty.

You can use the grunion_should_send_email filter to disable email forwarding. Try adding the following to a functionality plugin:

add_filter( 'grunion_should_send_email', '__return_false' );
