It doesn’t support front end uploading from other users at the moment. The reason being that the redirect URL that YouTube requires maps to the admin dashboard (the WP2YT uploader page), so when submitting an upload on step two and three, it redirects you to the correct page.

I am working on a solution where you can display the uploader on the front end and allow users to upload content to your YouTube account.

Have you found a solution for front-end uploading yet? I’m looking for a way to let users (not logged in to WordPress) upload a video which then waits for approval before being published.

    Hi wpbutler,

No I haven’t yet. I’m looking for some free time to circular back around and update the YouTube API. I’ll probably add a few features including the front end uploader, but it will most likely be a premium plugin on my site, as it’s going to take a bunch of development time.

I’m currently re doing my site and adding a support section. The site update should be done by next week.

    Thanks,
    Evan

Hi, is there ANY Chance that you have added frontend uploading capability? I really need to allow users the ability to upload their youtube videos to my channel.

If you have not had a chance to do this yet, I could make a donation to get this done… plus you can add the functionality as a premium.. whata ya say?

    Hi VooDoo,

I have not implemented that feature into this version. This verison is built on an older version of the YouTube API (2.0).

Over the past 6 months, I’ve been re-building the entire plugin from the ground up on the newer version (3.0). In the next version, this feature will be available as a premium add-on to the free version of the plugin.

Ideally, I’d like to set things up so the admin can manage the videos from a centralized dashboard to control what videos make it through and which are removed.

I’m really pushing to get the plugin completed and released by the beginning of November, but I have a few WordCamp conferences to attend which may take up some of my free time on weekends.

You can keep up with and track progress of the plugin over at http://www.YouTubeforWordPress.com .

I’m making a push to get the base plugin done before moving onto any additional premium add-ons , as I would really like to have a solid product out there before extending it.

I’m not sure how quickly you need the feature, or how much you would be willing to pay for such a feature but I know the add-on is going to take a bit of time to complete.

    Thanks,
    Evan

I am talking to a company based in India as we speak about having it designed an implemented pretty quick. I was doing a search for any similar plugins before I hired them and came across yours. Obviously, your plugin is quite refined and you have been working on it for a long while.

What would you charge me to get me a working version… call it a beta that doesn’t need to be released to the public?

I’m not entirely sure. It depends how in depth and detailed you wanted it to be. If you wanted things to be a basic front end uploader wher users could submit videos, that would be a lot easier than if you wanted me to build out the entire dashboard section for maintenance, email notifications, logged in conditionals etc.

Maybe we can work something out, if you want you can email me at Evan.M.Herman@gmail.com
