Please try to explain me exactly step by step what you did and when you see the problem and what the problem is exactly, so i can try to reproduce it.
Hello opajaap
As you asked and because I may not really understand what I am doing, here is a step by step of the issue as I see it.
Auto Save: 1. open site (wp dashboard), 2. Hover over “Photo Album” click on “Album Admin”. 3. Click on “Create New Empty Album” a pop-up box appears asking: The page at tvdmcl.org says are you sure you want to create a new album” OK or Cancel. I select OK.
4. The next ID Album #__ opens at top is “Edit Album Information” Auto Save. below is written “Album #40 Added”
From here it takes two minutes for Auto Save to activate after any item on the page is changed. If no changes are made “Remark: Album #40 is not yet modified” it will not auto save unless you leave the page.
5. Without leaving the page, I changed “Parent Album:” and “Link to:” waited the two minutes and Auto Save happened. The message at the top “Album #41 added”.
6. I did notice at the page bottom “Remark: Album 41 is not modified yet” (I was wrong about the not happening again). I made the same changes and waited for two minutes, auto save happened, it happened again message “Remark: Album #42 is not modified yet”. I let this happen several times (no big deal I need the albums). Each time was the same outcome.
7. I found that any change on the page triggers the timer for auto save.
8. Another item was that after a change “Remark: (the words) undefined (undefined)” in red followed by auto save and a new album.
I hope this helps find the issue. I don’t think it a problem more a surprise and keeping the old guy on his toes. Thanks for this widget and the most important the ability to get help understanding how to make it dance like a ballerina.

It is very strange what is happening on your site. I just tested it and after ( in your case Album #40 Added ) mine stays in album #40 and all changes are processed immediately, on album #40 as expected. I have never seen the behaviour you describe, so it is definitely not a reproduceable programming fault. Is it in your situation always happening this way ( hard reproduceable ? ) ?
Could it be that your browser re-issues the command to create a new album after a comm error, while the album is already created? ( just an idea… ) What browser do you use, and did you try another?
I will see which ajax operations i can change from asynchronous to synchronous ( as they appear to be more reliable ) and in any case improve comm error detection and processing.
Hello opajaap
I primarily use Google Chrome as my browser. I don’t know what this means (ajax operations i can change from asynchronous to synchronous.).
I am sorry to let you know that I have used Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer and Google Chrome and the same problem is experienced in all three. The auto save feature after two minutes saves the changes and switches to the next number as a new album.
When I want several albums it is a real help, otherwise it causes frustration in having to leave an open blank album to go back to what I was working on.

The auto save feature after two minutes saves the changes
Strange, very strange. 2 seconds is normal…
Question: How about the Photo Albums -> Settings admin page? How does that behave? changing checkboxes etc?
I just discovered by accident where your extra albums come from.
When you create a new album using the blue create new empty album button, an album is creatd.
If you now refresh the page, again a new album is created.
This will be fixed in the next version.
Great we both anvanced our knowledge. I sure enjoy as it gets better and better. Thanks Merry Christmas.
