Not receiving Contact Form email

    Not receiving Contact Form submissions via email.
    Running JetPack by WordPress, Version 2.5.

    Only one (required) field, email recipient is specified per code below:

    [contact-form to='blahblahblah@gmail.com' subject='eNewsletter subscription']Subscribe to our eNewsletter:[contact-field label='Email address' type='email' required='1'/][/contact-form]

    Other details:
    – all plugins have been disabled except for the following:
    Column Shortcodes, Version 0.6.1, By Codepress
    Google Analytics for WordPress, Version 4.3.3, By Joost de Valk

    – tried setting ‘to=’ email address to be same/different as below, no success:
    Settings > General > Email address

    – both options are unchecked in Settings > Discussion > Before a comment appears:
    Comment must be manually approved
    Comment author must have a previously approved comment

    – feedback is being logged in Feedback panel
    – email is not arriving in spam folder
    – Akismet is not installed

    Any suggestions?

    Couple of additional data points:

    • using WordPress theme Twenty Twelve
    • disabled all plugins other than JetPack (no success)
    • email notifications are being received for:

      • — comments awaiting moderation
      — new user registration

    • oddly enough notifications aren’t received when new comments are posted unless they are held for moderation, per the following admin options:
      Settings > Discussion > Email me when:
      (check) Anyone posts a comment
      (check) A comment is held for moderation
      Settings > Discussion > Before a comment appears:
      (check) Comment must be manually approved

    Finally solved this problem.

    • Host requires creation of an email account (e.g., user@domain.com) on the domain which is then referenced in php.ini:
      sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i -f'user@domain.com'
    • Name field must be included and required on Contact form since since host requires a valid From: email message header value. If Name field value isn’t provided, Contact form defaults Name value to email address which violates RFC 2822.

    Host in this case is Bluehost.
