The counter is wrong. In my case it does show a number, but the wrong one. It shows how much people “like” the Google+ page (116), but not the count of followers (75).
So the developer have to fix this anyway.
I tested here and 111 appears.

It may happen to have something on the server blocking the connection.
In my site appear only 0. But with the same provider in another blog, the plugin works correctly. I’ll try to install another blog on my server to test server. Please, you waiting for my test before close this topic

This is something on your server preventing the WordPress open remote connection.
1. Need to contact the server.
2. Search for server error log.
3. Check the mod_security.
In the log i found this: “GET /https://plus.google.com/102628870132451456581 HTTP/1.1” 404 599 “-” “Java/1.7.0_25”
Code 404 is not found! Why?

I have contacted my provider. They say there is not error in apache log about the plugin and that the mod_security is disabled.
What I can do now??
So the plugin is right, it works in all other places.
But for some reason there’s 404 for you.
My provider wants know what module is needed for the plugin. Can you answer about this question??
