Why WP team does not develop plugins to enhance WP security?

    Hi,

    I am wondering why WP team does not develop a plugin to improve the WP security, in particular to hide the vulnerable folders: WP-content, WP-include, and WP-admin?
    Why not to develop such a plugin, even if it will be paid, it does not matter, it will worth!
    Is there aldready any plugin that does this job?

    I think such a plugin developed by WP developers (or any other saavy developers!) would be much appreciated to enhance WP security!
    So, why WP’s developpers, you do not develop such a plugin and eventually make it paid to help you continue improve WP?

    in what way are those folders inherently vulnernable? What do they need to be protected from?

    This comes up from time to time and the short answer is that hiding such things in WordPress does not add any security at all. The security is in the code. Obscuring the directory names doesn’t make insecure code more secure.

    You’re so barking up the wrong tree. 😉 WordPress is for free (as in beer and as in liberty) and making money is not why people contribute.

    It was not duplicated, but complementary post! Anyway, I hope that WP got the idea! Did they?
    The other post was more detailed and argumented!
    It is legitimate to make good plugins and get money!
    Do you think that I have to beleive you make WordPress without any other reveue? 😉
    In the same way other developpers develop paid plugins for WP, you can do the same jopb, normally better, because you know WP better than others!
    So, I am really surprised why you do not enter this market?
    You already have Jetpack as a paid plugin so why you do not make other plugin for professional uses?

    No, WordPress.ORG does not have ANY paid products and won’t. JetPack is free.
