I have a big issue with the Find Me button: it locates me more than 10km from my actual address. I’ve tried it in different locations, both with iphone and android. The gps is active and i can see the gps arrow when calculating my position, but the address is not accurate.

Maybe it is not relevant: i’m in Europe

    Thanks!

The text that appears in the search box is approximate, but I believe the coordinates actually used for the search are accurate. When you do the search, the blue dot representing the center of the search area will show up in the correct place, and the distances of the results will be correct.

Maybe if I put “near” before the place name indicator in the search box it make it clearer. Sometimes the name that shows up there is correct, sometimes it’s off, depending on the data the geoplugin.com service has for the area.

Dear Dylan, thanks for your kind reply. I understand, and i’d like to pose a last question:
Could be possible to attach the search function directly to the Find Me button? So the user clicks the button and he directly goes to the results page, showing the places near him.
In your opinion this is an easy customization?
    Thanx again

It sounds like you might be best off not using the built in “find me” button, and writing your own javascript in a geo-mashup-search-form.php template in your theme. The default search form template has more details about that.
