Putting Button into Index.php page

I am having issues getting the button to show up on the index.php page. If I make a page from scratch it is no problem but for some reason when using the <php echo do_shortcode(‘[maxbutton id=”4″]’); ?> is still does not show up. I am creating a button to go at the top of the page for “New Posts” Any ideas will help thank you! http://www.projectlifestyle.net
