Markers in wrong location

When I enter the gps coordinates lat/long in the address, my marker is showing up in some other country. What is the correct way to put the numbers into that space?

If I do 43.39560-89.275601 it ends up somewhere else in the world.

When I edit the location — it still doesn’t go where I wish it to.

I obviously am missing something but don’t know what. Thank you.
