Hide Socialize on Post Category

Hi, in the new twentythirteen theme there is all types of post formats. Certain ones don’t make sense for the socialize section to appear. Can I disable the socialize buttons on certain post formats or categories? Thank you for your time and help!

Hi there!

The easiest way to do so would be through some custom CSS rules. Can I have some example links of where you’d want to hide it? I’ll have a look and see if I can come up with some simple rules for you.

Have not tested but you could try something like this:

add_filter('posts_selection', 'custom_socialize_output');
function custom_socialize_output(){
    if (class_exists('SocializeFrontEnd')) {
        global $socializeWPfrontend;
        remove_filter( 'the_content', array($socializeWPfrontend, 'insert_socialize'));
        if(is_category('9'))
            add_filter('the_content', array($socializeWPfrontend, 'insert_socialize'));
    }
}
