Unfortunately no, a query of that complexity is not possible using this shortcode.
Thank you. Would there be a customization you might be willing to provide? (not for free obviously 🙂 )
im looking to do the exact thing as curtis4 Bill. Great plugins!
Since this is the second request in as many days for this feature, I’ve added it to the plugin.
You’ll need to download the most recent version from Github ( https://github.com/billerickson/display-posts-shortcode/zipball/master ). Since I just released version 2.1 of the plugin a few days ago, I’m going to wait to release version 2.2 until I have some more changes for it.
I’ve updated the wiki with information on how to use it (scroll to the bottom): https://github.com/billerickson/display-posts-shortcode/wiki
Fantastic! Works great. Thank you so much. Please provide a link for a donation.
One last question before I let you go, Bill. How would I change the output to show a custom field instead of the excerpt?
You’ll need to use the output filters to modify what is outputted. Here’s an example (this displays full post content, just replace get_the_content() with your get_post_meta() call: http://www.billerickson.net/code/display-posts-shortcode-full-content/
Bill, this is a great plug-in thanks! My goal was to do the same as Curtis4. I saw the instructions at the bottom of the Wiki first but after much time working could not get it to work. I came across this post, downloaded version 2.2 and it worked! Thanks again. BarTaste.com
