Display Posts Shortcode

Description

The Display Posts Shortcode was written to allow users to easily display listings of posts without knowing PHP or editing template files.

Add the shortcode in a post or page, and use the arguments to query based on tag, category, post type, and many other possibilities. You can also customize the output with parameters like: include_date, include_excerpt, and image_size.

Epic

This is exactly the kind of plugin everyone should be doing. Very customizable, super usefull.

Does the job

WP 4.8 broke this feature in Jetpack, at least for the moment, so I am very glad of this replacement.

I’m not sure what another reviewer’s complaint about formatting is. This will let you use a div as a wrapper, so there’s CSS.

Works but doesn’t offer basic formatting

This plugin would be great if it was able to separate post titles from excerpts and increase the size of the title font, if the excerpts “read more” ended where you put the read more code instead of making it’s own cutoff, if it offered some way to separate blog posts with a horizontal line, and if it provided links to additional pages of posts at the bottom 1 2 Next>>. I just don’t see any reason for using it if it’s not going to a least retain the basics of the default blog post layouts. If you are a pro at css then maybe this is for you.

Super geniales Plugin

Wirklich perfekt.

Indispensible

This is one of a small handful of plugins that I install on every WP site I setup.
It work wonderfully and gives all the flexibility I need.
It handles pagination well.
It gives options to style the lists using custom CSS (some assembly required, batteries not included).

This should be in WordPress core! Don’t mean to take this away from Bill Erickson after all his great work, but I consider it essential!

I do need to create documentation for my end users to remind them where each category/tag listing shows up on their site, but that is true of most everything we do in site development that is flexible/custom.
