• Hello Jetpack Support,

I’m using five Jetpack Slideshow blocks in a published WordPress post. All 25 images have alt text in the Media Library, and the alt text is visible when I edit the images in the slideshow gallery.

However, the saved slideshow markup and the published page’s HTML output empty alt attributes for all 25 slideshow images. Seobility consequently reports missing alt text for the post.

Could you advise why the alt text is not included in the saved or rendered slideshow markup, and whether there is a supported way to make it appear without rebuilding the galleries? I have not changed the galleries or re-entered the alt text.

    Thank you.

    Hi @gobo0815,

Thanks for the detailed report. We’d like to reproduce this on our end, so could you tell us if the alt text was already in the Media Library when you added the images to the slideshows, or was it added later?

If you have a minute, a quick test would help too: in a draft, add a new Slideshow block, choose two images from the Media Library that already have alt text, save the draft, and let us know whether the alt text shows up in the saved markup.

    Thanks!

    Hi Tamirat,

Thanks for your reply. For the 25 images in the existing slideshows, alt text is currently present in both the Media Library and the slideshow editor. I can’t confirm whether it was already there when those images were originally added or added later.

I created and saved an unpublished draft with a new Slideshow block and two existing Media Library images whose alt text was already present before I selected them. The saved content contains the Slideshow block and both image references, but no individual image or alt text attributes. The rendered content returned for the draft was empty, so I couldn’t verify whether the generated slideshow markup includes the alt text. The draft has not been published.

Could you advise how I can check the rendered markup for an unpublished draft, or whether this saved-block result is enough to help reproduce the issue?

    Best,
