Hi @amzwp
The error message points to a Stripe account/connection issue rather than a general WooCommerce checkout problem.
In particular, Stripe is saying that the PaymentMethod belongs to a different Stripe account/context than the account being used to process the payment. Since your later test payment completed successfully, this may have been specific to that payment attempt rather than all payments on the store.
I would first check WooCommerce > Status > Logs and look for the payment gateway/Stripe log around the time of the failed order. That may provide more details about the request that failed.
It would also be worth confirming which Stripe/payment plugin you are using and that it is connected to the intended Stripe account. If the gateway has a disconnect/reconnect option, I would not reconnect it yet until you have checked the logs, since the existing error information may help identify what happened.
The failed customer email is likely a separate issue. If other WooCommerce emails are being delivered normally, an incorrect customer email address is one possibility.
If you can share the payment plugin name/version and the relevant log entry with any sensitive information removed, that should help narrow it down.
Hi @amzwp,
Congrats on your first order, and sorry it hit a snag.
That order note comes from WooPayments, the payment plugin, rather than from WooCommerce Core itself. The message means the card details sent for that order didn’t match the payment account processing it, so the payment was declined before it went through. Since your test order worked fine afterwards, it looks like it was limited to that one attempt rather than a problem with every payment.
That said, the WooPayments team is best placed to look into why it happened for that order, as they can check the payment details on their side. You can reach them in their own support forum here
https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce-payments/
When you post there, include the order number and the time of the failed payment, so they can find it quickly.
Best,
